●看英文电影，最常听到的表达之一就是“come on”。几乎做任何事情，以英语为母语的人都喜欢用这个词。根据不同的情境、场合，它表达不同的含义，更代表说话人的心情。如果快迟到了，用“come on”表示催促，对应中文的“快点”；如果想安慰对方，“come on”意为“好啦”；如果是鼓励对方，“come on”就是中文里的“加油”；如果向对方发出挑战，“come on”就是“来呀”。
●除了表示人物的情绪状态，“come on”还可以描述大自然的变化。比如春天来了“The Spring is coming on.”，这是表达季节的变化；“Night came on.”夜晚来临了，这是表达时间的变化；“It came on to rain.”开始下雨了，这是表现天气的变化。如果用在人身上，就是一句问候语，表达对别人做某种事情的关注。比如，“How are you coming on with English？”你英语念得怎么样？
●其实，下雨下雪也可以用“come down”表达。比如，雪下得又大又密“Snow came down thick and fast.”。除了刮风下雨，老百姓最关心物价是不是上涨了“come up”？政府有关部门有没有及时应对，想出办法“come up with a good idea”，把不合理的价格降下来“come down”。因为即使是小小的涨价，对于穷困的人无异于雪上加霜“come down in the world”。
